Tagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Rechtsvergleichung in Berlin prasentiert wurden. Heute sind die Europaische Union (EU) und die Organisation pour l'harmonisation en Afrique du droit des affaires (OHADA) die beiden am starksten integrierten supranationalen Organisationen der Welt. Einerseits wurde die OHADA institutionell nach dem Vorbild der EU modelliert. Andererseits konnte OHADA, ausgehend von einer im Wesentlichen franzosisch gepragten Rechtstradition, bei der Vereinheitlichung des Handelsrechts deutlich weiter voranschreiten, wie inzwischen elf einheitliche Rechtsakte belegen, die sich auf nahezu alle Aspekte ds Handelsrechts beziehen. 140 Jahre nach Beginn der sogenannten Berliner Konferenz uber den "Wettlauf um Afrika" spiegelt dieser rechtsvergleichende Ansatz zugleich den Paradigmenwechsel in den Beziehungen zwischen Europa und Afrika wider.
