About this Item

Not date but most probably the 30s. All three volumes are so similar in condition that one description suffices and any exceptions noted below: red embossed cloth with bright gilted title on front , faded on spine ; light foxing to the fore edges;top edges a bit dusty; no pen or pencil marking inside the book only sporadic light foxing; most corners mildly bumped, a couple a little more with light fraying; volume 1 has a 1" tear at the top front edge of spine but does not effect tightness of book; volume 3 has a much smaller, maybe 1/4 " tear in the same place as Volume 1; Over all; a quite attractive set that is not only collectible but valuable as a resource. There is a most useful 4-page flyer produced by publisher with over 70 common questions related to bricklaying and the place within the volumes where the answer can be found: Here are a few of the questions along with the place in the volumes where the answer can be found: What are the varieties of bricks and their uses ? Vol I, page 6 How To Underpin Walls? Vol II., pages 187 and 195 How To Form Bevels on arches? Vol. Ii page 97 How To Build A spiral Chimney Stack ? Vol.II pages 174 and 179 The Different Types of Mouldings? Vol II page 122 How To Renovate Brick Floors Vol. III page 88 What are tumbling courses ? Vol. II page 44 Many more great questions and places to find their answers within the guide. An essential for the set. Store Description

Rare Reads formerly operated a storefront in The Lakewood Antiques Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia but reverted to a strictly online operation when the Gallery closed. In 2006, Rare Reads published "The Heeey Baby Days of Beach Music" which received a bronze medal from The Independent Publishers Association. Long sold out, copies of the 13 pound tribute to the musicians who created the unique R&B genre are occasionally available on ABE. The book was a collaborative effort of Rare Reads and many others including the musicians that created the sound Southerns term "Beach Music." Rare Reads is considering future publications in addition to expanding its online enterprise. Rare Reads is operated by Greg Haynes and son Reid Haynes and has warehouses in Atlanta and Athens, Georgia.
