From precision surgery and dermatological innovation to photobiomodulation and regenerative healing, laser technology has transformed modern healthcare faster than almost any other medical advancement. Yet for many clinicians, students, and healthcare professionals, the science behind laser medicine remains fragmented, overly technical, or scattered across multiple specialties.
Modern Knowledge of Lasers in Medicine changes that.
Designed for clinicians, medical students, residents, laser practitioners, researchers, and advanced healthcare professionals, this comprehensive textbook delivers a clear, evidence-based roadmap to understanding how laser technology works—and how it is transforming patient care across multiple disciplines.
Whether you're trying to master the fundamentals of laser physics, understand laser-tissue interaction, improve procedural confidence, or stay current with emerging regenerative applications, this book provides the structured clinical foundation most training programs never fully teach.
Inside this authoritative guide, you will discover:
• The core physics of laser energy explained in a clinically practical, easy-to-understand format
• Laser-tissue interaction principles essential for safe and effective treatment selection
• Comprehensive coverage of ophthalmology, dermatology, surgery, pain medicine, and regenerative therapy
• Step-by-step insight into photobiomodulation (PBM) and evidence-based therapeutic applications
• Modern approaches to laser resurfacing, tattoo removal, vascular lesions, hair removal, and scar revision
• Clinical guidance on laser safety, dosing parameters, pulse durations, fluence, and tissue targeting
• Detailed explanations of selective photothermolysis, Q-switching, fractional technologies, and picosecond systems
• Real-world clinical cases, review questions, and evidence-graded recommendations throughout the text
• Emerging frontiers including AI-assisted laser optimization, laser-assisted drug delivery, and regenerative medicine
Unlike many laser textbooks that focus narrowly on one specialty, this book integrates the entire field into a single cohesive clinical framework. The result is a resource that not only teaches what to do—but helps readers understand why laser therapies work, how to critically evaluate new technologies, and how to apply evidence-based reasoning in real clinical settings.
What makes this book different?
Modern Knowledge of Lasers in Medicine combines:
• Foundational science without unnecessary complexity
• Cross-specialty clinical integration
• Evidence-based treatment frameworks using GRADE methodology
• Practical parameter-selection guidance clinicians can apply immediately
• A modern focus on both established and emerging laser therapies
Whether you are preparing for boards, expanding your clinical expertise, building a laser-focused practice, or exploring the future of regenerative medicine, this textbook offers the clarity, depth, and clinical relevance needed to confidently navigate one of medicine’s fastest-evolving fields.
If you want a modern, clinically grounded, and comprehensive guide to laser medicine, this book belongs in your professional library.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
