Modern Man and Religion

This thesis examines the intermingling of different religious traditions in Bolivia and Switzerland, drawing on phenomena and trends specific to each country. In the modern era, the individual's need for spirituality in their life persists, even though many are turning away from institutionalised religions. Increasingly, people's personal religious practices are being enriched with elements from different religions and are thus becoming more individualised.
