Complete in four volumes.In the publisher's original green cloth binding.Each text features a monochrome frontispiece and two colour plates tipped in to the front paste down. Volume I also contains seven further monochrome plates; Volume II contains five additional monochrome plates; Volume III contains two and Volume IV contains six, alongside a folding diagram. Collated, complete.Undated, dated from copies held by the British Library.Publisher's pamphlet tipped in to Volume I, with questions to test the reader's knowledge upon completion of the collection printed alongside a resourceful index spanning all four volumes.A contemporary, in-depth guide to the mechanics of motor cars, featuring chapters on engines, clutches, tyres and all manner of car components. Chiefly written by technical journalist Arthur William Judge, who published a number of texts on motoring, mechanics and engineering. With contributions from Captain W. E. Dommett, Major A. Garrard and John Phillimore, among others. In the publisher's original green cloth binding. Relevant publisher's pamphlet tipped in to Volume I. Externally, smart with slight bumping and rubbing, very minor loss of cloth at spine head, tail and tips, light sunning along spine and a few marks to boards. Internally, generally firmly bound with only a couple of marginally more delicate pages throughout the collection. The colour plate to Volume II is present but loose, and one colour plate to Volume III is lightly creased. Bright and clean collection with the odd spot, heavier to the first and last few pages.
