Hardcover. 32,9 : 22,9 cm. Original-Halbleinenband mit farbigen Deckelillustrationen. Ein Doppelblatt auf starkem Karton mit aufklappbarem Pop-Up. Die Ecken etwas bestoßen. Bilderbuch des Pop-Up-Pioniers Vojtech Kubasta mit Darstellung verschiedener Tiere des Dschungels. Auf der Titelseite ist im Vollbildmodus ein Elefant abgebildet, der mit einem abgebrochenen Baumstamm im Rüssel und zwei Kindern auf dem Rücken durch den Dschungel läuft. Auf der Rückseite befinden sich 24 nummerierte farbige Kästchen mit jeweils einem Tier darin. Das sind alles Tiere, die im Dschungel versteckt sind. Gut erhalten. Vojtech Kubasta (1914-1992) lebte vom vierten Lebensjahr bis zu seinem Tod in Prag. Er erstellte mehr als dreihundert Pop-ups, die auf der ganzen Welt verbreitet und in 37 Sprachen übersetzt wurden. Seine Pop-ups wurden mehr als zehn Millionen Mal verkauft. Kubasta nutzte alle möglichen raffinierten Techniken, um atemberaubend schöne Pop-ups zu erstellen, die beim Umblättern automatisch eine "Ooh"-Reaktion hervorrufen. Neben der Technik werden auch sein leuchtender Farbeinsatz und der wiedererkennbare, ansprechende Illustrationsstil voller witziger Details gelobt. Soft cover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Kubasta, Vojtech (illustrator). 1st Edition. Not dated, approx 1960s. 8pp plus pop-up tableau. Good/None. Soft pictorial card covers with a little rubbing/chipping to edges/spine, slight loss to bottom of spine and small tape repair, very minor soiling. Contents generally clean but for minor soiling/spotting. Pop-up tableau complete and in good working condition - swinging monkey and stand alone figures of Moko & Koko still present. One of Kubasta's incredibly engineered pop-ups. Scarce particularly with the 2 figures.
