Die nachfolgenden Seiten enthalten die Bestimmungen der von Herrn Prof. Kraepelin während seines Aufenthalts in Java im Frühjahr 1904 gesammelten Land und Silßwasserschnecken, mit Ausnahme der Nackt 'schnecken, die sich bei Prof. Simroth zur Bearbeitung befinden. Ich erlaube mir, diese kleine Arbeit meinem hochverehicten Chef zu seinem 25jährigen Amtsjubiläum als geringes Zeichen meiner Dankbarkeit zu widmen. Die vorliegenden Mollusken sind in der Umgebung von Buitenzorg und Tjibodas gesammelt worden. Obwohl also aus einer verhältnismäßig gut bekannten Gegend stammend, bieten sie doch, außer einigen neuen Spezies, eine Reihe wertvoller Ergänzungen unserer bisherigen Kenntnisse. Besonders war es mir möglich, einige der von V. Moellendorff nur kurz beschriebenen Arten aus fruhstorfers Ausbeute genauer zu behandeln. In zoogeogra'phischer Beziehung schließen sich die gewonnenen Resultate gut an das bisher Bekannte an. Da die Land und Süßwasserfauna J avas seit längerer Zeit nicht zusammengefaßt ist, habe ich am Schlusse ein Verzeichnis aller bisher bekannt gewordenen Arten aus Java angefügt mit Angabe der Literatur, soweit sie sich auf Java bezieht und aller bisher veröffentlichten javanischen Fundorte.
