Robyn Ringgold is a native of Baltimore and currently resides there with her two daughters. Robyn is a vegetarian and enjoys traveling abroad, experiencing diverse cultures, and being of service to others. My Mom Hugs Trees was inspired by a conversation Robyn overheard her daughter having with a friend. Her daughter seemed embarrassed, yet admiring as she described Robyn's strange habits.Vidya Vasudevan spent her early childhood and teen years in Uganda and Mozambique with her family, and pursued her higher studies in India. Although she holds a degree in English Literature, Vidya has always had a passion for cartooning and illustration. Her illustrations draw inspiration from her background in Africa and India. Vidya lives in the US with her husband and newborn son. Her works include Mbutu's Mangos, written by Zaccai Free.
