A Moment with Monet (Paperback)

Art history has never been this delightful. In A Moment with Monet, you get to go on a wild journey with Justine, Paris, and Manet, all students in Ms. Simone’s art class. With the help of a magical and very silly word—wackadoey—the three kids zip away on the wings of imagination to France where they get to ask Claude Monet all about his paintings.

Discover why Monet painted outside, chose to paint series of the same scenes over and over again, and what important lesson one of his teachers taught him. Learn about the Impressionist style of painting and how it got its name. But most of all—have fun and be inspired to find out what you want to create!

Part of Sima Levy’s Meet the Artist series, this book introduces kids to art history in a way that is as enjoyable as it is educational. Written in rhyme and illustrated throughout, this is a charming addition to any elementary school classroom or kid’s bookshelf at home.

Sima Levy is a mother, wife, teacher, writer, and creator who was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. When she was eight years old, her family moved to New York. Later that same year, her eighteen-year-old brother died of a brain tumor, and it was this tragedy that stirred in her a desire to give back to the world. Now, inspired and helped by her husband and three children, Levy's Meet the Artist series is making those childhood dreams a reality.

When she's not teaching at Cohen's Medical Center, where she enjoys immersing children in art and watching them forget their pain and illness for a few precious hours, she likes to spend her evenings dreaming up the next adventure for Ms. Simone, Paris, and the gang.
