This is the Fishers' fourth book about Elizabeth and their twelfth about her or her family since she succeeded to the throne thirty-three years ago. As such it is a popularized personal and political biography, full of homely if unauthenticated detail, which updates the record through December 1984. The most complete, accurate, and fairly objective biographies now available are Robert Lacey's Majesty (LJ 4/1/77) and Elizabeth Longford's The Queen ( LJ 10/1/83).
