Andrew also enjoys speaking to business and general audiences on the latest investment trends, and new developments in computer technology that empower Canadians to help meet their personal objectives. He lives in Toronto with his wife, Dawn-Ava, and three children — Brendan, Megan, and Jordan
Andrew looks forward to your comments, and can be reached at aj-dagys@rogers.com.
Andrew Bell, author of Mutual Funds For Canadians For Dummies, was an investment reporter and editor with the Globe and Mail for 12 years. he joined Report on Business Television as a reporter in 2001. Bell, an import from Dublin, Ireland, was for 10 years the main compiler of Stars and Dogs in Saturday's Globe. The roundup of hot and damp stocks and mutual funds was an invaluable therapeutic aid in relieving his own myriad jealousies, regrets, and resentments. he has also taken to the stage, where he practices a demanding "method" that involves getting the audience and other performers as off balance and upset as possible. He lives in an unfinished and perhaps unfixable construction project in Cabbagetown, Toronto, with his wife, two children, and very rare brown-and-black tabby cat.
Tony Ioannou, co-author of Buying and Selling a Home For Canadians For Dummies, is currently a senior associate with Dexter Associates Realty, and has been interviewed many times in the Vancouver media about the state of the Vancouver real estate market. Tony obtained his real estate license in 1984, and has consistently been a top producing salesperson with NRS Block Bros., and with Dexter Associates Realty since 1990. In 1990 he obtained his agents (brokers)license, but continues to enjoy working as a residential real estate sales person primarily on the West Side of Vancouver. He has also worked as a division director for the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. Tony was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and immigrated with his family to Vancouver in 1973. He completed high school in Vancouver and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Geography from the University of British Columbia. He has lived in Vancouver's Kitsilano neighbourhood for the past 20 years and is an avid mountain biker and golfer.
Moira Bayne, co-author of Buying and Selling a Home For Canadians For Dummies, is a writer and editor based in Toronto. She writes on topics as diverse as investing and health care, gardening and home decorating. A passionate do-it-yourselfer, she is committed to convincing other people that they can too.
Wendy Yano, co-author of Buying and Selling a Home For Canadians For Dummies, is also a writer and editor, has worked on books ranging from the Lemon-Aid car guides to The Candian Encyclopedia. Wendy recently bought her first home in Toronto's Riversdale area and obsesses over home renovations and maintenance.
Margaret Kerr and JoAnn Kurtz, co-authors of Candian Small Business Kit For Dummies and Wills and Estates For Canadians For Dummies Planning Kit, are lawyers, and they are also both entrepreneurs — and they have the bumps, bruises, and scars to prove it. Occasionally, they find they came to be the authors of , among other books, Buying, Owning and Selling a Home in Canada (now in its second edition); Candian Tort Law in a Nutshell (with Laurence Olivo); and Make It Legal: What Every Candian Entrepreneur Needs to Know About the Law.
John Lawrence Reynolds, author of RRSPs and RRIFs For Dummies, is a graduate of McMaster University (English & Psychology) and holds Certified Advertising Agency Practitioner recognition from the Institute of Candian Advertising. In the mid 1970s, he walked away from an executive position with a major advertising agency to pursue a career in film directing, writing and photography. Soon he was balancing business and promotional writing with travel assignments—he has sailed the Nile, Rhine, and Amazon rivers, dived off Australia's Great Barrier Reef, hiked through rice paddies in Bali, and stalked perfect dim sum Hong Kong. John has written and published ten books, including five mystery books—two of them Arthur Ellis award winners for Best Mystery Novel by a Candian—as well as books on ballroom dancing, gardening, and true crime. His professional writing assignments have included RRSP and pension-related material for a number of leading companies. He has also been a loyal RRSP contributor and investor for over 25 years. John lives in Burlington, Ontario with his wife Judy and two self-indulgent cats.
