Money and Mission: A Discernment Guide for Congregations (Missio Dei)

Some might think it would be wonderful if every dollare we give to "mission" resulted in the redemption of souls and bodies in direct proportion to the amount given. Some might think it would be wonderful if how much money we control and how much privilege we enjoy did not matter in cross-cultural relationships. Well, it might be wonderful, but it would not be true to life. Not only is the landscape of money and mission full of land mines, but that landscape is changing rapidly before our eyes as mission organizations proliferate and the global church becomes a reality. In addition to Peter Graber's introductory reflections, more than half of this booklet is devoted to a practical guide for congregationsl discernment of mission-funding issues. While Graber does not provide us with all the answers, he does give us a handle on the questions we need to be asking.
