Money Writes is a non-fiction book written by Upton Sinclair, an American author and social reformer. The book explores the role of money in American society and its impact on politics, culture, and the economy. Sinclair argues that money has become the driving force behind many of the decisions made by individuals and institutions in the United States, leading to a system that prioritizes wealth over the well-being of the population.Throughout the book, Sinclair provides examples of how money has influenced various aspects of American life, including the media, education, and healthcare. He also delves into the history of money in the United States, tracing its origins and evolution from the early days of the country to the present day.Sinclair's writing is engaging and thought-provoking, challenging readers to consider the ways in which money shapes their own lives and the world around them. He offers a critique of the current system and suggests ways in which it could be reformed to better serve the needs of the people.Overall, Money Writes is a powerful and insightful book that sheds light on the complex relationship between money and society in the United States. It is a must-read for anyone interested in economics, politics, and social justice.1927. Sinclair, American novelist, essayist, playwright, and short story writer, whose works reflected his socialistic views. Among his most famous books is The Jungle, which launched a government investigation of the meatpacking plants of Chicago, and changed the food laws of America. Sinclair wrote in a note at the beginning of the book: This book is a study of American literature from the economic point of view. It takes our living writers, and turns their pockets inside out, asking, Where did you get it? and What did you do for it? It is not a polite book, but it is an honest book, and it is needed. It concludes a series begun ten years ago, including The Profits of Religion, The Brass Check; The Goose-step, The Goslings, and Mammonart.
