Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) in Pest Management Projects

This book explores the critical role of MERL in enhancing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) projects, offering methodologies for qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research. It covers data collection techniques (surveys, interviews, remote sensing), impact assessment, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tailored to local contexts. Challenges like resource constraints and stakeholder engagement are addressed alongside best practices, including capacity-building and adaptive learning. Case studies from Africa and Asia highlight successful implementations, while emerging technologies (drones, IoT) and participatory approaches signal future directions. Emphasizing sustainability, the book advocates for policy support, biocontrol adoption, and climate-resilient strategies to improve global food security. Dedicated to family and mentors, it merges technical rigor with social sensitivity for actionable insights in agricultural development.
