Monocots of Thar Desert: Systematic studies of the grasses of Thar Desert, Sind, Pakistan

This book deals with the taxonomical studies including morphology, leaf epidermal anatomy and pollen and palynology of the grasses (monocots) of Thar desert of Sind, Pakistan. The study has conducted on 39 species belonging to 56 genera of 8 tribes in 4 subfamilies of Poaceae from District Tharparkar. The objective of the study was to identify and classify the plants on the basis of systematic studies and to study the intraspecific, intrageneric and intergeneric relationships among species of different genera and tribes.

Barkat Ali has done Mphil from Quaid-I-Azam University, Pakistan and currently working as scientific officer in NARC,Islamabad.Pakistan.his main interests are Plant taxonomy and Bioremediation.Kiran Yasmin Khan has done Mphil from QAU Pakistan and her main interests are Plant Taxonomy, Medicinal Plants.Dr Mir Ajab khan is professor in QAU,Pakistan.
