The Montessori Method

By placing the child at the center, Maria Montessori revolutionized elementary education. In Montessori schools, children are given freedom to develop their own skills at their own pace--and, as a result, they flourish beyond their traditionally-schooled peers. "The Montessori Method" is Dr. Montessori's most complete account of the history, philosophy, and practice of her teaching method. It is an essential work for teachers, parents, and all those interested in unleashing human potential for the betterment of our world. This special Centennial Edition celebrates the 100th anniversary of the opening of the first Montessori "Children's House." It features the original text in a beautiful new design, printed on high-quality paper.

This book is Montessori's own exposition of the theory behind her innovative educational techniques. She shows parents, teachers and administrators how to "free a child to learn through his own efforts."
