How the Moon Became Dim is inspired by an ancient Hebrew text about the Sun and Moon's creation. Originally, both were the same size and emitted an equal amount of light. The Moon wished to be brighter and more powerful than the Sun. The Master of the Universe taught dear Moon how her value was equal to the Sun and how her special beauty and power is exactly as intended. This valuable teaching helps children learn to discover their own inherent value - just as they were designed by their Creator . An early lesson on dealing with envy and jealousy.

Author, Ruth Wiseman, uses this story to encourage young readers the importance of self-acceptance and the value of their own particular talent - their light for the World.

Ruth Wiseman has been writing children's stories since the 6th grade, when her English teacher inspired her talents. She has been writing children's books for over twenty-five years and co-edited Broken Glass, Broken Lives: A Jewish Girl's Survival Story in Berlin 1933-1945by Rita J. Kuhn. Her own stories will be published in 2017 by Saturn Moon's Press, an imprint of Cactus Moon Publication LLC. Ruth graduated with a B.A. from U.C. Davis in International Relations, with an emphasis in Russian and Economics. She worked in community service for almost two decades, then went into financial services. At a certain point, she noticed that her lifelong love of writing was an unrealized part of her life. Stories began springing from her imagination to entertain her niece and nephews and, eventually, her own children. She is now happy to share them with you.
