The Moon on the Pavement (Paperback)

In the heart of the Big Smoke, a name is a luxury and a heartbeat is a promise easily broken.
Luna was never meant for the shadows. Once the cherished co-pilot of a gentle delivery driver named Joe, her world was defined by the jingle of van keys and the salty warmth of a shared ham sandwich. But when the "Great Sleep" claims her protector, Luna is thrust back into the unforgiving labyrinth of the city-a place of predatory alley cats, the terrifying nets of "The Catchers," and the cold silence of the Red Mark.
Lost and starving, she finds an unlikely mentor in Cody, a battle-scarred, one-eared terrier who lives by a singular, cynical rule: Don't love a human; they're temporary. Love the street; it's always there.
From the flickering neon of the industrial fringe to the hollow chill of a condemned basement, Luna and Cody form a bond forged in survival. But as the winter "Blue Frost" tightens its grip and the clock on the kennel wall ticks toward zero, Luna must decide if she is just another nameless stray or if she has the courage to choose her own fate.
A soul-stirring odyssey of loyalty and resilience, The Moon on the Pavement is a testament to the pack we build and the love that guides us home.
