Even The Moon Has Scars: Even the Broken Shine Beneath the Moonlight

Even the Moon Has Scars
By Ruth Diamond

In this deeply personal and poignant collection, Ruth Diamond invites readers into the hidden corners of her life—through poems born from heartbreak, healing, resilience, and love. Even the Moon Has Scars traces the journey of a woman who has weathered the storms of abuse, poverty, foster care, grief, and illness, yet still rises to find beauty in the cracks.

Organized into six thematic sections, Ruth’s poems echo with the voices of lost siblings, the tenderness of caregiving, and the unbreakable bond of family. Her words honor a father who gave all he could, a husband fading into dementia, and a childhood where joy somehow bloomed in the soil of hardship. Accompanied by personal photographs, each page is a window into a soul shaped—but never shattered—by life’s trials.

Written with honesty and grace, this book is not just a collection of poems—it’s a testament to survival, a tribute to love, and a reminder that even the most scarred hearts can shine.

Perfect for readers who have endured pain, fought for hope, or simply want to feel seen, Even the Moon Has Scars is a powerful portrait of what it means to keep going, even when the night feels long.
