A beautifully illustrated collection of Moore's Irish Melodies, in a lovely leather binding. In a handsome Hayday binding. Engraved throughout with illustrations by D Maclise, an Irish history, literary and portrait painter and illustrator. Thomas Moore was born in Dublin in 1779. A Irish poet, singer, and songwriter whose most notable works include 'The Minstrel Boy' and 'The Last Rose of Summer'. In a full morocco binding with gilt detailing by Hayday. Externally, smart with just some rubbing to extremities. Front hinge slightly starting but still firm. Signature and blind stamp to front free-endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright with spotting throughout and some patches of offsetting from engravings. Very Good. Seller Inventory # LTH26-H-9
