Osbourne, Lloyd. Facsimile edition of the Davos 1898 original. 3.25" X 5" Illustrated and unpaginated. 32mo. Robert Louis Stevenson produced a few small juvenile toy-books that were printed by his young stepson, Lloyd Osbourne. Each booklet featured woodcuts with verses printed on the opposing pages. According to the George Barr McCutcheon sale catalogue (New York, American Art Association, Inc.,1926, lot 555) "the cuts were executed by Stevenson with a pen-knife." This is a charming facsimile edition (reproduced in Edinburgh according to the R.L.S. website chronology), and though a reprint date isn't provided, the facsimile appeared in auction records as early as 1911. Printed self-wrappers, sewn as issued, small tear at upper cover and crease at foot of spine, some toning; else a very good copy 3.25" X 5" Illustrated and unpaginated. 32mo Facsimile edition of the Davos 1898 original.
