Moral Maxims by the Duke de la Roche Foucualt | Translated from the French with NOTES ( Rochefoucault )

1749, 4 x 6 inches approx, 198 pages + index; originally half bound calf/marble boards with five raised bands to spine; boards are completely detached and marbling is significantly scuffed; most of backstrip has been lost, though title panel remains (please see image ); text block is secure, with darkening to endpaper edges, and some foxing throughout; old library stamp to reverse front endpaper and I found two small pencil notes on text - unobtrusive, but could be erased if desired | suitable for rebinding.
