Morgan's Eddy

Faye Bynum, heroine of Time and Chance, tells the truth as she sees it - which is pretty clearly, except in matters of love and sex. A job with a small-town newspaper under the editorship of T&C's suitor Forde Morgan could provide stability and recovery. But no fewer than six others have designs and hopes for Faye. Four of them are brutal, one a charming liar, and one a former prostitute. How to navigate this minefield, while challenging the casual Jim Crow ways of Gabbro, NC, and exposing the graft-ridden abuse of public funds? Forde would love to help, and so would teen-age spiritual prodigy Annie Godfire; and so might the Confederate dead who lie beneath Morgan's Eddy, in this triumphant sequel to Faye's acclaimed coming-of-age story, Time and Chance.
