Moses And His Recent Critics (1889)

Moses And His Recent Critics is a book written by Talbot Wilson Chambers in 1889. The book is a critical analysis of the life and work of Moses, the prophet of the Old Testament. Chambers examines the criticisms of Moses that had arisen in recent times and provides a detailed response to each one.The book is divided into several chapters, each of which deals with a different aspect of Moses' life and work. Chambers discusses Moses' childhood, his encounter with God at the burning bush, his leadership of the Israelites out of Egypt, and his role in the establishment of the Ten Commandments.Chambers also addresses the criticisms of Moses that had been raised by scholars and theologians in the late 19th century. These criticisms included doubts about the historical accuracy of the biblical account of Moses, as well as questions about his authorship of the Pentateuch.Throughout the book, Chambers defends Moses against these criticisms and argues that he was a true prophet who played a crucial role in the history of Israel. He also provides a detailed analysis of the biblical texts that describe Moses' life and work, and offers insights into the significance of his teachings for contemporary readers.Overall, Moses And His Recent Critics is a comprehensive and scholarly work that provides a valuable contribution to the study of the Bible and the life of Moses. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
