Item description from seller

Collection of the traditional children's rhymes illustrated in pen-and-ink & full color lithographs by Pelagie Doane with a distinctly vintage feel! A First Edition from 1940 (unknown printing), unpaginated, decorative endpapers. Small hardcover has a thinly wrapped blue cloth-wrapped spine with brightly colored & decorated paper over the remaining boards, with a little girl in the center of a flower patch on front (whose eyes eerily look like Regan's from "The Exorcist,'' IMHO). Though the book is clean & bright, all pages intact, it is downgraded to Good due to light coloring to endpapers & front matter & last page. With only 3 exceptions, the 48 internal pages are unmarked. Spine is strong & straight, reinforced at binding by publisher. Light-moderate rubbing to extremities, corners & fore edge side of both boards more heavily bumped. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.…
