[Mount Baker] Admiralty Inlet from Port Townsend Washington--Supplement to the West Shore, Portland, Oregon Chromolithograph measures 16 x 22 1/4 inches. Previously folded into quarters, likely as distributed. Archival tape on verso of left side horizontal fold. Very small hole at intersection of folds. Light chipping and wear to edges. Verson has moderate foxing which does not bleed through to recto. Good Condition. Stunning, albeit hyperbolic view of Admiralty Inlet from Port Townsend, Washington, Territory. View from shore across the inlet with ships on the water and massive Mount Baker in distance. Foreground view includes encampment with teepee, small wood building, and canoes on shore. Issued as a supplement to the West Shore volume 15 issue 4, April 1887. West Shore was family paper devoted to Literature, Science, Art, and the resources of the Pacific Northwest, published by Leopold Samuel from 1875-1891. Unknown artist. Admiralty Inlet is the strait connecting the eastern end of the Strait of Juan de Fuca with the Puget Sound. The inlet separates Whidbey Island from northeastern part of the Olympic Peninsula.
