Hpakant, a small town in northern Burma, has been famous for its vast jade mines, drawing people from across the country. Against this backdrop-from 1993 to 2008-, this novel richly illustrates the journey of a Chin woman, Len Zing (Lenku), and the two men who shape her life forever- her brother and her boyfriend. From their humble beginnings in rural life to their High School years in a nearby town in Chin State and ultimately to Hpakant, the jade capital, the story explores the unbreakable bonds of love and the power of perseverance. In a patriarchal society, where women are chronically underestimated, Lenku shatters expectations, demonstrating the power of belief and determination. Lenku proves that success in life is determined not by gender, but by mindset and determination. As you follow her journey, you will surely be captivated by her remarkable strength and resilience.
