Mouse Paint: A Charming Picture Book About Color Mixing and Discovery for Children (Ages 0-3)

Three playful mice dance, splash, and discover the wonder of color mixing—all while staying hidden from the cat.

Perfect for fans of Lois Ehlert and Press Here, this charming picture book gently explores the world of color and celebrates the joy of creativity.

One day three white mice discover three jars of paint--red, blue, and yellow.

But what happens when they splash in the colors, mixing the red and blue? Or dance in the blue and yellow? Thinking the jars are filled with Mouse Paint, the curious trio climbs right in until one turns red, one yellow, and one blue. A lively dance in a yellow puddle shows the red mouse that mixing colors makes bright orange.

When their fur gets sticky and stiff, the mice wash clean and paint the paper instead. This playful introduction to colors will appeal to any budding artist or curious preschooler.

• Color Mixing: Yellow feet hopping into a blue puddle create a bright patch of green, while blue feet in red paint stir up a vibrant purple.
• Primary and Secondary Colors: The mice paint their paper with red, yellow, and blue, then blend pairs together to paint matching sections of orange, green, and purple.
• Cut-Paper Collage: Crisp collage artwork brings every paint jar, mouse footprint, and colorful puddle into vivid visual focus.
