Its Your Move

Now in its third revised edition since its original publication in 2001, It’s Your Move offers up-to-the-minute and proven advice to help Canadians get the jobs they really want. While the economy seems stable, the job market is shifting, and only those armed with the right strategy will succeed. This latest edition delivers the essential and timely information that job seekers need. Inside, you’ll learn more about:

• The age factor: An aging work force and retirements are significantly affecting how organizations manage talent retention and succession. Job seekers 50+ learn how to leverage their age and experience in this market.

• Temporary is the new permanent: The reality of fewer permanent, fulltime positions is here. It’s Your Move demystifies the world of short-term contracts and consulting.

• The new Internet: How Spider technology can help job seekers identify new employment opportunities.

• Becoming a brand: How executives can create their own “brand” that establishes a unique position.

Offering a step-by-step approach, It’s Your Move covers every facet of the search process and includes over 30 worksheets. Written by an expert in career transition management and job search services, It’s Your Move is an in-depth and indispensable Canadian guide for all mid- and upper-level job seekers, as well as all those considering a career change or who have experienced a sudden job loss.
