Movement of The Way – Tenuat HaDerekh
Sacred Movement & Breath with the Living Letters of Light

By Chaplain Shawnna Schmidt

What if prayer was not only spoken… but walked?

Movement of The Way (Tenuat HaDerekh) is a Scripture-rooted practice of embodied prayer, sacred movement, and breath. Drawing from the Hebrew Aleph-Bet, Messianic foundations, and the words of Yeshua — “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6) — this book invites readers to experience faith not only through belief, but through the body itself.

In the Hebraic worldview, faith is not static — it is walked.
The Hebrew word derekh means path, journey, and manner of living.
Movement of The Way restores this ancient understanding by uniting posture, breath, Scripture, stillness, and intentional movement into a gentle, accessible practice for all bodies.

Inside this book you will find:

• 22 sacred movement postures inspired by the Hebrew letters (Aleph–Tav)
• Breath practices and Scripture pairings for grounding and restoration
• Adaptive movements suitable for standing, seated, or supported practice
• Messianic and Hebraic theological foundations
• Embodied prayer sequences for individuals, families, and guided groups
• A glossary and word studies to deepen biblical understanding

Rooted in Torah, fulfilled in Yeshua, and guided by the Ruach (Spirit), Movement of The Way is not exercise, performance, or yoga.

It is prayer made visible.

Whether you are seeking restoration from fatigue or overwhelm, longing to reconnect body and faith, or exploring embodied worship within a Scriptural framework, this book offers a gentle path of return — from fragmentation to wholeness, from striving to sacred rest.

This is not something you rush.

It is something you walk.

Author Bio

Chaplain Shawnna Schmidt is a faith-based author, teacher, and founder of the Movement of The Way (HaDerekh) practice. Rooted in Messianic and Hebraic understanding, her work integrates Scripture, embodied prayer, breath, and sacred movement to help individuals reconnect body, soul, and spirit.

As a chaplain, mother, and advocate for holistic healing, Shawnna’s journey into embodied worship emerged from decades of searching for a biblically grounded movement practice aligned with her faith. Through personal health challenges, caregiving, and deep theological study, Movement of The Way was born as a labor of love — a return to walking faith with the whole body.

She is passionate about helping individuals, families, and small groups rediscover prayer as lived experience — not merely spoken words.

Shawnna is also the founder of the “Align With Love” initiative and continues to teach and develop additional volumes within the HaDerekh series.
