Fifteen Thousandth Edition. This is the first edition with additional illustrations. There are 18 illustrations in total - 13 full-page and 5 part-page. The first printing of 1888 had 16 illustrations, all full-page. The additional illustrations in this edition originally appeared in magazine form, in the Illustrated London News, 1888 Summer issue (See Allen p. 48). Maroon cloth, titled and decorated in metallic silver on spine and cover, brown end pages. First edition typo fixed, six pages of ads and the publisher's 24-page catalog dated 9/94 at rear. London: Longmans, Green, and Co. (1894), 304 pps. VG. Forward lean, darkened top edge, wear. Cracked book block, inked inscription dated 1950 on verso of frontispiece.
