Octagonal portrait of the actor Joseph Shepherd Munden (1758 -1832); half length, looking to the left; wearing a double-breasted jacket and frilled cravat. Stipple enrgaving on wove paper, sheet size 132 x 90 mm. Engraved by William Ridley after Sir Martin Archer Shee and published by T. Bellamy in 1793. William Ridley (1764-1838 Addlestone) was a English printmaker and illustrator, who produced many portraits for use in periodicals. Sir Martin Archer Shee (1769-1850) was an Irish portrait painter. He also served as the president of the Royal Academy. In good condition, cropped within platemark. A few small and faint spots in the left and lower edges (not affecting the main image area).
