Mr Punch Afloat - The Humours of Boating and Sailing

This vintage book is a collection of humorous sailing poems, anecdotes, and extracts, illustrated with delightful drawings and interspersed with handy tips and useful information. Both entertaining and informative, "MR Punch Afloat - The Humours of Boating and Sailing" is highly recommended for those with an interest in sailing and would make for a fantastic addition to collections of related literature. Contents include: "Mr. Punch at the Helm", "'Arry on the River", "Making the Best of It", "Hints to Beginners", "To Pyrrha on the Thames", "My Riverside Adwentur", "Otherwise Engaged!", "Lest Men Forget", "The Amateur Yachtsman", "Robert on the River", "Bo'sen James and the Great Sea-Sarpint", and more. Many old books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. It is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an affordable, high-quality edition complete with a specially commissioned new introduction on sailing.

The many works of Sir John Tenniel (1820-1914) include many humorous and political cartoons for Punch and other periodicals of the time, but he is best known for his illustrations of the original editions of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Class.
