I'm guessing that you are already familiar with this wonderful little picture book, and know something of its curious story and its dreamlike pictures; so on to condition and edition. This is either a first edition in a second issue dust jacket, or a very early reprint. The book has the copyright date of 1962 with no additional dates listed. The dust jacket is price-clipped, has the code "40-80" on front flap, has an early review of the book by Paul Williams on the rear flap, and has no Caldecott Medal Honor Book sticker. There is a slight indentation and faint stain on the front board and the spine shows a little wear at ends. Otherwise a very good copy indeed, internally very clean. The very good, clipped dust jacket has a small stain on front panel and top of front flap, is slightly worn at spine ends, and has one or two edge nicks. A very nice copy of this well-known picture book.
