Green cloth on boards, with bright gilt lettering and decoration and black line decoration to spine and front board. Light bumping to top and bottom of spine and corners of boards. End papers yellowing. Previous owner's inked details on reverse of frontis. Otherwise clean and tidy throughout. Hinges showing cracking, but secure. Illustrated with twelve colour plates and numerous black and white plates. The brown dust jacket repeats the book's decoration to front and spine, albeit in black and brown, not gilt. A label for the price 3/6 NET, is attached to the spine. The dust jacket has moderate shelf wear along edges, and is intact. A stated 'New Edition', the book is undated. However, within the advertisements at the rear there are many ofr dried eggs, including one for 'War-Eggo No.1', showing a container with numerous patriotic flags on the front, suggest that the book was published during the Great War. Clothing in the advertisements also suggest early 20th Century. 584 pages including index, plus a number of advertisement pages at rearand as paste down at front. Seller Inventory # 001386
