MuPAD (Multi Processing Algebra Data Tool) is a parallel-processing general purpose computer algebra system, designed to tackle complex mathematical problems in mathematics, science, and engineering. Special care in the development of MuPAD has been taken over modern interfaces (graphics tool, hypertext system, and interactive debugger) to provide the user with a considerable ease-of-use. MuPAD is equally attractive for students, teachers, and scientists, and available on Unix workstations as well as for computers of the Macintosh family.
Members of the academic sector may obtain the MuPAD software through the authors free of charge.
This tutorial gives an introduction to MuPAD and is addressed to beginners in computer algebra as well as advanced users. Experience with other computer algebra packages is useful but not necessary to understand most of the book. The tutorial encourages a user to get to know MuPAD through "learning by doing".
