About the Author

Nacida en Torquay en 1891, Agatha Christie recibi� la t�pica educaci�n victoriana impartida por institutrices en el hogar paterno. Tras la muerte de su padre, se traslad� a Par�s, donde estudi� piano y canto. Contrajo matrimonio en 1914 y tuvo una hija, pero su matrimonio termin� en divorcio en 1928. Dos a�os despu�s, durante un viaje por Oriente Medio conoci� al arque�logo Max Mallowan, con quien se cas� ese mismo a�o; a partir de entonces pas� varios meses al a�o en Siria e Irak, escenario de Ven y dime c�mo vives (Andanzas 50, ahora tambi�n en la colecci�n F�bula) y de alguna de sus novelas policiacas, como Asesinato en Mesopotamia o Intriga en Bagdad. Adem�s del gran �xito de que disfrutaron sus c�lebres novelas, a partir de 1953 gan� celebridad con las adaptaciones teatrales de sus novelas en el West End londinense. En 1971 le fue concedida la distinci�n de Dame of the British Empire. Muri� en 1976.
