The Muezzin

They heard her voice. They thought it was his.

In a town shadowed by war and increasing repression, thirteen-year-old Jamila commits a forbidden act. As suspicion intensifies and danger moves through the streets, the world that once shaped her begins closing in.

Years later, under a new identity and on the brink of stardom, Jamila has built a life far from the one she left behind. But the more the world hears her voice, the harder it becomes to hide who she really is.

As the past she tried to leave behind resurfaces, Jamila must confront what was taken from her-and decide whether the voice that once put her in danger is one she is finally ready to reclaim.
