The first Africans arrived in the New World around 1619 and were introduced to the culture within the colonies in Jamestown, Virginia. Although the stories inside Muffled Cries are separated by more than a century, the characters still faced the same evil element: Racism.

White superiority doesn’t care who it beats, belittles, or worse… kills. The Black man knows this all too well.

In the first book of this bestselling series, Muffled Cries: Negro Pain and Southern Wealth, you met a cast of main characters: Dak, Asher, Jacob, Leah, and Master Lats. You were introduced to each of their struggles and eagerness to gain their individuality, with the strongest likely belonging to the young Prince Dak. That is, until you meet Turner—a man who desires to escape slavery, even if it means producing perhaps the bloodiest revolt in the history of slavery.

Within the pages of this book, you will find that some slaves are willing to risk their freedom by devising dangerous strategies that lead to physical confrontations and murder. Most shocking is the betrayal by a close friend of Prince Dak, yet that does not diminish his ambition to do everything in his power to return to Africa and his father’s kingdom.
