Multidisciplinary Approaches to Cholinesterase Functions

Inhibitors of cholinesterases have important applications in agricultural pest control, and in the medical treatment of myasthenia gravis and glaucoma, and the management of Alzheimer's disease. From an April 1992 conference in Eilat, Israel, 38 papers capture the burst of research brought about by the recent structural resolution of the catalytic subunit of acetylcholinesterase and by the application of methodologies related to molecular genetics and protein engineering.
