Studies are being carried out to identify the important characteristics for effective teaching and learning when multimedia technology is incorporated into the classroom. Therefore, the research will seek to develop a framework to study the impact on student learning when multimedia technology is used in teacher-centred, mixed-mode and student-centred classrooms in higher education. The framework will serve as a guide or roadmap for educators wanting to innovate and implement viable multimedia-mediated instructional methodologies to support learning in tertiary education.
