About the Author

Jiro Taniguchi naci� el 12 de agosto de 1947 en Tottori (Jap�n). Debut� como dibujante de manga en 1970 con Un verano seco. Desde 1976 hasta 1979 public� con el guionista Natsuo Sekigawa Ciudad sin defensas, El viento de oeste, Blanca y Lindo 3. En los a�os ochenta volvieron a trabajar juntos en La �poca de Bocchan, obra larga sobre la vida en Jap�n durante la era Meiji (finales del siglo XIX). En los a�os noventa public� muchos trabajos en solitario, incluyendo Barrio Lejano, ganadora del premio L`Alph Art al mejor guion en el Sal�n de Angulema (Francia) y mejor obra extranjera.
