On a cold afternoon in January, Maria Westover makes her way to the station to catch the train to West Runton. While some of her clothes and belongings are later found on the track, she is nowhere to be seen. Written by Mark Cross, the pseudonym of Archibald Thomas Pechey, an English lyricist and novelist. After moving to Somerset, Pechey switched his pen-name from Valentine to Mark Cross and wrote over forty-five crime novels between 1934 and 1961, many of which followed the Adjusters. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities and minor loss to the head of the spine which has been sympathetically repaired with brown paper.
