The Murder of Grace Millane: A Shocking True Crime Story

She set out to see the world. She never came home.

In December 2018, 22-year-old Grace Millane arrived in New Zealand during what should have been the adventure of a lifetime. The recent university graduate from England was traveling the world, meeting new people, and sharing her journey with family and friends back home.

Then she disappeared.

When Grace failed to return to her hostel in Auckland, police launched a search that quickly captured international attention. Within days, investigators uncovered a chilling trail of evidence that led to a horrifying discovery: Grace’s body hidden in a suitcase and buried in a shallow grave outside the city.

But the shocking revelations did not end there.

Inside the courtroom, her killer admitted responsibility for her death — yet claimed it had been an accident during a consensual sexual encounter. The controversial defense strategy ignited outrage around the world, forcing Grace’s grieving family to endure painful testimony while the victim herself was placed on trial.

The Murder of Grace Millane tells the full story of a case that stunned the world — from Grace’s final days and the investigation that followed, to the disturbing evidence uncovered by detectives and the dramatic courtroom battle that sparked a global conversation about consent, misogyny, and violence against women.

A tragic story. A relentless investigation. And a young woman whose name will not be forgotten.
