January, 1938" on copyright page (as far as I know this is the first paperback w/dust jacket edition published by Collins as the early printings refer to the hardcover Collins printings) - VERY RARE PRE-WWII AGATHA CHRISTIE PAPERBACK PUBLISHED WITH DUST JACKET - THERE WERE ONLY A HANDFUL OF AGATHA CHRISTIE BOOKS THAT WERE PUBLISHED BY COLLINS IN THIS PAPERBACK FORMAT IN THE LATE 1930S (the generic cover Collins pbs were not intended to be saved after being read and those few that were saved - hardly any of those survived the paper drives imposed in the UK during WWII). Book has no hard vertical spine creasing, no spine lean, no cover creases, no age yellowing to covers, no chipping to covers, hint of wear to spine tips - no spine chipping or tearing at spine tips, no edge wear, no dust/handling soiling, no soiling or staining, no cover rubbing, no former ownership markings or used bookstore stamps inside, pages starting to age yellow at edges (as is often found with these pre-WWII Collins pbs), pages are tight and flat with no creased page corners from prior reading, no spine fade. Original Dust Jacket has tiny chip at top of spine/top left on front panel and tiny closed tear at bottom right on spine otherwise no chipping, tearing or creasing, slight wear to spine tips with 'v' losses to bottom spine tip corners, almost no wear to front flap crease, slight wear to left/right on spine, no soiling or staining, slight spine sun darkening to white area on spine, almost no edge wear. Overall a FINE-/N-FINE book in VG/VG+ dust jacket of a rare Agatha Christie pre-WWII paperback printing book.
