About It's Music Time: What if you were taking a pleasant stroll through the forest only to find yourself in a magical wonderland where animals sing, dance, and musical notes float through the air?

Well, that is precisely what happens when an adventurous young lad gets waylaid by a musical extravaganza as he heads to his music lesson.

Anything is possible when you let your imagination take flight, but only true believers will be allowed to dillydally with this daring lionhearted boy as he marches through the woods in It's Music Time.

A boy discovers a world of danger—and music—in this fantastic nearly wordless picture book by veteran Bartlett. Both the text and pictures are delightful throughout . . . A wonderful tale of imagination about the magic of marching to the beat of one’s own drum—even if it takes one in an unexpected direction. — Kirkus Reviews

Puckish visual humor marks this absolutely stunning picture book.

This beautiful near-wordless picture book by T. C. Bartlett is a musical extravaganza, a whimsical tour de force in which a boy on his way to his drum lesson gets sidetracked by animals that are singing in the woods. The boy is warned not to “dillydally” in the woods, or he’ll be late for his music lesson. But like all children, the desire to dally is almost impossible to resist.

This exquisitely rendered picture book has a child’s wild imagination filled with a fun sense of humor and adventure. It contains all of 33 words - all spoken by unseen adults. It is as charming, as funny, as exciting, and as moving as a baby’s smile.

I love this picture book by T. C. Bartlett. Can’t wait to see what book he creates next. I give It’s Music Time more than (5) stars for concept, plot, illustrations, and book design. A real picture book delight! — Mary Sue (Book Review)
