Synopsis

About the Author

Del Staecker ran away from a thirty-year career to sit in a cabin in Idaho with no phone, no TV, and no radio for up to twenty hours a day and write The Muted Mermaid by hand. Virtually penniless, he used scrap paper to finish his manuscript. Staecker began writing Shaved Ice, the sequel, the same day he finished The Muted Mermaid.
