Mutiny Within: The Heresies of Percy Bysshe Shelley

George Braziller, New Yok, 1967. Hardcover in Dust Jacket. Stated First Printing, First Edition. Written by James Rieger. From the dust 'James Rieger's inquiry into the sources of Shelley's ideas and the transformation of this material into the body of his poetry becomes, in effect, a brilliant intellectual biography. It is an inquiry that begins with "a schoolboy, no older than an American high school senior, a scribbler with sloppy personal habits, a fondness for chemical stench and bangs, and no discernible talent" and ends with the poets death----possibly, and even probably, Mr. Reiger suggests, a suicide rather than the victim of a sailing accident.'
