Drew and I are brothers, my name is Taylor, and we love to travel and solve mysteries of nature. We took this trip to Alaska with our dad and really didn’t know what to expect. And then the adventure began. We flew to Anchorage, got in a small plane piloted by a bush pilot, and flew into a remote area northeast of Anchorage. Then we got on a boat and went upstream to a fishing lodge. Next came bears and salmon and scary stuff. The salmon’s life cycle and their migration from the river to the ocean and back to the river is amazing. Also amazing is the history of Native Alaskans whose ancestors migrated across the Bering Land Bridge from Siberia to Alaska. An incredible adventure and we hope you enjoy following along with us in the vast untamed wilderness that is Alaska.

About the Author
Dubbed a “Renaissance Man” by friends, Randy Persson’s life is a tapestry of varied adventures and scholarly pursuits. From editing his college’s literary magazine to co-editing a law school journal, Randy’s passion for storytelling has deep roots. His adventures span from simple joys in Minnesota to thrilling escapades on Iran's Caspian Sea. Randy's longstanding fascination with Indigenous Peoples' histories deepened after visiting Wales, Alaska, a pivotal site for ancient tribal migrations. There, sharing stories with local children, he was reminded of the power of storytelling to bridge generations. His upcoming book aims to trace the epic journeys of Indigenous Peoples across the Bering Land Bridge, inspired by his research in Wales and the rich Indigenous history of Arizona. Randy’s work is fueled by a desire to explore and celebrate the resilience and rich cultural heritage of Indigenous communities.
