Fiscar Marison, the pen name of Catholic priest Father George J. Blatter, translated "The Mystical City of God" by Maria de Agreda (1602-1665). Written by her in the 17th century, she maintained that the book and its message was revealed to her the the Virgin Mary, often through dictation. This book was first publilshed in 1902; undoubtedly issued in 4 volumes, it is lacking the volume titled, "The Transfixtion." The original green cloth covers are worn at the extremities with shelf wear and some marks to the covers. The contents are in good condition, are unmarked (except for previous owner names on the front free endpaper), and are generally tight. This is a good reading copy with an interesting and unusual Santa Fe, NM imprint. Please inquire if you would like more information. ; Frontis Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 668 pages.
